My son is the idea guy

My son had an idea for a Pokemon card. He drew up what he wanted me to draw and everything.  I lost his original art work or I would've posted it here. It was pretty cool, he has a whole back story. This is Apophix and he was trapped in the center of the world and now he has escaped. The kid has a pretty good imagination. My kids are always having me draw up stuff or want to work on stuff with me. Its actually pretty cool, I'm sure there will be a lot more to come.

Happy very late St. Patrick's day! I started this before St Patrick's day but got busy and didn't get around to finishing it until now. This is my little brother Paul. My bros and I where going together to go to a conference. We were trying to meet up in a large crowd  when all of a sudden there was my bro. looking just like this. He looked just like a leprechaun. Hes short and he has red hair (kind of-he has read hair most of its on his chin now). I think there might have been a rainbow in the background......and maybe a pot of gold. I had to put the idea in my sketchbook. Here you go Paul. "Top a the mornin to ya"
 This was done in Photoshop. I've been experimenting on how best to color scanned line art. I went back and forth on style a little finally settling on a less detailed more cartoony look rather than more painterly look.
I'm interested in what kind of revenge is coming my way.

My Friend recently got a commision to draw a family as super heros. He needed help with the whole "comic book style" look so he asked me to help out.  I did the line work of the figures while he colored them and did the faces. This is just the line work I did with a few values thrown on real quick. I used this project to really push myslef digitally. I never do a whole peice from beginig to end on the computer. Doing line work on the computer was really frustrating at first but by the end I was getting the hang of it. 

Really, does anyone remember the twilight zone movie where the people lost their mouths? Yeah that seriously messed with my head.....

A little bit of color

 

I thought it was time to add a  little color to my blog. I chose to throw this one up because it was the first color piece that I did in Corel Painter. I have a lot to learn still. It's a cowboy because cowboys are cool. Giddy-up

So I did this quick sketch a while ago in a production meeting at work. so when I'm in a meeting talking about hearts and organs and anatomy stuff this is what I come up with. Just something fun.

My First Post

So this is my first post. I know It's exciting. I have wanted to do this for years. I'm not sure why I haven't. But here I am.This is a little project I did during lunch breaks. It's a few months old. I was really just trying to focus on seeing and learning how to paint in Photoshop.
